Judge Sérgio Moro, who was in charge of Operation Car Wash lawsuits at the lower court, said on Tuesday morning in São Paulo that the political reform "as it is being considered is not a real political reform."
Moro spoke about the importance of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to have approved the direct action of constitutionality that prohibited the electoral financing of companies. The judge said he was sympathetic to public funding, but not exclusive, and was concerned about the renewal of the mandates.
The magistrate finalized his speech "lamenting" that "anti-corruption actions have almost exclusively been criminal justice. "I think our elected representatives should raise a more incisive way in this issue of corruption," he said.
