President Michel Temer said on Friday in his Twitter account that he had spoken by telephone with Venezuela's opposition leader Leopoldo López and expressed repudiation of Brazil's political prisons in the neighboring country.
Lopez left on Saturday (8) a military prison in which he was imprisoned three years ago and began serving his sentence at home.
Temer reported that in the conversation with the oppositionist, he said that Brazil supports human rights and is "next to the Venezuelan people". Temer also reported that Lopez asked to send food and medicine to the country.
"I recently received a call from @ leopoldolopez. He seemed well disposed and firm in his fight for the restoration of democracy in Venezuela," said the president. "I have reaffirmed Brazil's support for its full freedom and repudiation of political prisons," he said.
'Contribution'
After meeting with Foreign Minister Aloysio Nunes at the Itamaraty, Argentine Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie said that Argentina and Brazil are seeing with "great concern" the crisis in Venezuela's democracy.
Faurie also stated that there is a need for Mercosur countries to make a "contribution" to Venezuelans without, however, specifying what kind of support should be provided.
"We were talking about the great concern of the two countries [Brazil and Argentina] about the situation in Venezuela and the need for the countries of the region to make a contribution to recover the full force of democracy and a brotherly people that we appreciate so much," he said.
prisões políticas no país vizinho.
López
deixou
afirmou o presidente. "López agradeceu apoio do Brasil nos dias
mais difíceis no cárcere. Pediu corredor humanitário para envio de
alimentos e remédios para o povo. Reafirmei apoio do Brasil à sua
plena liberdade e repúdio a prisões políticas", disse.
'Aporte'
chanceler argentino.

Reinaldo, I found your editorial to be nice, but this information that in the Brazilian military dictatorship had only more than 400 dead is not correct, since the 8,500 Indians killed in the Amazon are not in the account and some people who were not even from the guerrilla , Like Rubens Paiva and Edson Luís. But other than that, I found your editorial very nice. You have a very smart look at the current news. I always like to get away from disinformation on most YouTube channels by listening to your program. Congratulations.
